Club Rides - a group effort/activity
To help keep our rides interesting we would like to solicit ride/stop-over/destination suggestions from the membership.
While Bill, Amede, and I are happy to be plotting out routes, these are Club Rides and we encourage all members to put forward their ideas and interests. This will only help to make the rides even more interesting and varied.
Any suggestions should be forwarded to one of the Executive. Members are also free to put on their own rides, we just ask that you forward the details (in a format like I've been using) to the BMWONS Ride Coordinator (bmwonscom@gmail.com), so that the rest of the Club can be made aware of the ride and we can ensure that there are sufficient details to allow others to participate easily.
I know that this introduces more structure than many would like and it certainly is not mandatory, these are your rides, however, there is a significant benefit to using such a structure.
For instance, on our 2017-04-29 ride, Shereef was able to join us at our Windsor stop and ride with us until Walton and Larry was able to join us in Maitland at our lunch stop and ride with us until his turn-off for Truro.
By having just this small amount of information posted with the ride announcements, it allows riders who can't do the whole ride to plug in and out of the ride as their schedules allow without having to engage in calls/emails/etc., to try and coordinate things.
Our hope is that it will give all members more opportunities to participate in these rides even if just for a short portion. It is great to see everyone and have an opportunity to ride together whenever possible.
