Canadian Launch of F650GS and F800GS

Toronto, Ontario, November 27, 2007 - - - With just days to go before the Toronto Motorcycle Show opens its doors at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, BMW and Honda join Suzuki, Harley-Davidson, Buell, Yamaha, Victory, BRP and KYMCO and offer a sneak preview of some of the new models they will be featuring.



BMW will launch two new F-Series Enduros - the F650GS and F800GS. The combination produces a new level of agility and performance suitable in on and off-road environments. The F800GS places greater emphasis on off-road capability and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in a mere four seconds. Two HP2 high performance models will be featured prominently at the show. The HP series has been designed by BMW engineers to produce bikes that represent the ultimate in riding performance. The HP2 boxer-twin series will gain serious traction in 2008 with the introduction of HP2 Megamoto and HP2 Sport. In the Adventure Touring Category, both the R1200GS and R1200GS Adventure have been reworked to provide stronger, livelier and more agile motorcycles.

Beemer, I understand the new F650GS will have an 800cc parallel twin, have you heard any reasons why BMW is still keeping the original 'F650GS' name?
