2016 Cabot Trail Ride

The ride was a success with excellent weather and scenic views.
Some riders had not ridden the shore road from Neils Harbour to Cape North before and were ecstatic about this stretch of road.
In hind sight we should have made more stops for more breath-taking photos.

Really disappointed that flight delays kept me from being able to take part in the ride this year. The photos drive that home even more, but keep them coming, at least I can enjoy it vicariously. ;-)

The photos certainly confirm that it was definitely my loss. Pleased to see the route went up through Sherbrooke. I've done that run before and really enjoyed it, especially going up through Larry's River. Did the group do that or cut across country via Route-7?

Amedee, the Cabot Trail itself basically goes from Neil's Harbour to Cape North, but I presume you folks took the alternative route via New Haven Rd through White Point, is that correct?

I am game to still doing a run before it becomes totally unfit.

Sounds good but, unfortunately, I've got a ton of work to do over the next three weeks and then am away again until Nov 21st. If I'm lucky I might be able to squeeze in a day trip or two on the coming Saturdays, but that's going to be it until December.

If you've never seen White point then it's worth a half hour stop. Park at the wharf and walk up over the hill 5 mins to the peninsula. 
One of the prettiest pieces of NS you can discover. Few tourists have seen it.

Let's try to make sure it is part of next year's Fall Colours ride. So many great little gems that either get forgotten or overlooked. Certainly can't take them all in at once, but some are worth revisiting on a regular basis.
