The front do the engine block has a black plastic cover that hides the crank and alternator pulley.
BMW in their sometime infinite wisdom has a sponge placed inside of the cover towards the lower half

It helped cause this

Here is the culprit

So I put the keyboard and mouse down and got the sand paper going
A few days, with about a total of 2 hours work and it looks like this

While the front plastic cover was off the girls decided to get creative and since it's a gs it can use all the help it can get to look less gnarly

Note the bmw impression in the plastic colored with nail polish and white out
Very Happy

Looks very nice Shereef.

Before you sanded the cover was it coated or just the bare aluminum?

The paint was bubbled up and that what I peeled really and then sprayed the rest of the engine case

I could have spent more time and made it very close to perfect but the surface is very small and the access to it is very tight
:-)

And the girls will paint on anything if it stays still long enough
:-)
They painted the back fender as well
I am sure
They made it white where it says gs
