R1100RT Replacement Muffler
It's that time of year when you go over your bike. As I was looking, I see the interior of my muffler is showing cracks ('98 R1100RT). I may get a bit longer out of it, but the hand writing is on the wall ... I will need a new muffler/Cat soon. Does anyone know of a street legal replacement or should one simply gulp and go for the $1000 OEM unit? I want it quiet!!!

Keep an eye on the Market Place at the Internet Riders. Here is a link: http://www.ibmwr.org/
A few winters ago I kept an eye on the Market Place and over time I was able to get good deals on a flip up Corbin Seat, BMW hard bags, bar back, forward foot pegs, tank bag, and a few other things for my R1100RS.
Now and again you will see exhaust systems - sometimes stock units that guys have taken off after replacing with after market units; other times you see after market systems that people have taken off when they sold their bikes.
Keep an eye on Beemer Boneyard as well.

Good luck.
