Club ride - August 14 2011
Repost from Bill's email.
Looks like Sunday will be a good day for a club ride. Meet at 10am, Sunnyside Mall (in front of Tims) in Bedford. Not sure what route we will take; we're open to suggestions.

Re: Club ride - August 14 2011
Bikes bikes made it on the ride today. Joining the ride were members and guests: John Engweiler, Bill hayter, Mark Mayer, Steve and Carol Poirier and myself. We rode to Upper Musquodoboit via Goffs and the Guysborough rd. then on 224 to Sheet Harbour for a lunch.
We stpped at Willy Krauch's smoke shop for Bill to make some kinda deal in the smokeshop. They sell smoked salmon here by the 100gm.
Then back along route 7 to Clam Hbr for the sand sculpture competitions. But the long lines of cars, and people were too much for these motorheads. Steve/Carol and Bill quickly turned around. Mark had kept on going because he was wanted back in the valley.
John and I were told where to park but the thought of hiking in in M/C boots was too much to bear. So we rode behind a few cars thinking: We'll be able to sneak in 'somewhere'.
'Somewhere' turned out to be about 10 kms down the road!! And that was not within sight of any beach!
So we turned around and that's when we found out about the 10 km. stretch. Looking at some tents that were set up on the beach on our way back, I think getting to the sand sculptures would have been akin to getting to a local Machu Pichu, Ha Ha.
One more rest stop at the railway museum for an ice cream was in store for John and I and then home via Lawrencetown which was buzzing with activity.
Good ride had by all.
