Memories of a Motorcyclist: John Dorman “JD”

On June 10, fellow riders will gather to remember the life of JD.
There will be a short ceremony, beginning at 1:30, placing his remains in the Memorial Grove at the Bluenose Rally site, with prayers and a poem. There will be no speeches, as he did not care for speeches.
After the ceremony, there will be a self-guided ride on some of the roads that he liked to ride. We ask that you travel in small (3 or 4 together) groups, as this was his way. (Also, it's safer.) After the ride, return to the Rally grounds for a BBQ and party.
We do need to know how many people will be partaking of the BBQ, (Pork chops, and fixings) before the 5th of June, to give Reid a chance to get the supplies in.
Please, RVSP, Before June 6, for the BBQ, and the camping.
When the BBQ is finished, there will be a party, with beer that JD left for us. If you intend to have “more than one”, you are welcome to camp at the site. This would be an ideal time to tell stories of your memories of JD.

For those of you who did not have the good fortune to know JD, he was a Charter Member of BMWONS (1978) and rode across this continent on a number of occasions. He is missed by all who knew him.
If you are going to attend and partake in the BBQ please RSVP to either Bill Hayter or Tony Mason.
Metro riders will depart from Tim Hortons Bedford Common at
We will now leave Bedford @ 11 am, this will allow for a relaxed secondary road ride vs slabbing it, and a lunch stop along the way.

For those who don't subscribe to BMWMOA, their August issue of BMW Owners News has a nice small piece remembering JD.
If you get it, you can find it on page 92 in their "Final Journey" section.
