Good video. Certainly highlights the need for proper sand-tires when the shifty stuff is present to any degree.

But thats what makes it an adventure bike vs a starbucks bike.
The fun is getting those bikes away from the pavement and seeing what they can do.
They are just piles of metal, plastic and oil, and will one day go to someone else or a junk yard.
They really really shine in the dirt, and when they get stuck you need muscles and a few friends to get it out. But thats what they are there for too.

A KLR is an awesome bike, and dirt bikes are a hoot. But nothing is like those iron swines in the dirt. Third gear roll ons and the tail is whipping around, makes your heart sing.

Agreed. My thinking is just that most Adventure bike owned would be well served to have two sets of tires mounted on rims so that they could enjoy the abilities and duality of these bikes for a far greater degree than riding in soft terrain with the OE tires which don't give very much traction once you get into deep sand, mud, etc.

Not saying that playing with little to no traction can't be fun, just that equipping a GS with the right tire for the job really let's it shine. ;-)
