Hello!

My name is Colin Campbell.. So happy to find you all!

Happy as well to say: I have purchased a BMW 2010 s1000rr for my Atlantic Canada Pro Superbike championship challenge at AMP in 2013! Not an average bike if I do say so myself. All the important upgrades done and ready to test on the first day of the season.
I will be the only pro rider on a BMW this season and will be facing a tremendous challenge, as the talent pool is as deep as some of the pockets. Our mechanic from last year is NOT available this year so we are looking for a wizard to help us! If you know of anyone... please let us know or match us up! We are also looking for sponsorships.

We are 2011 Endurance race champions in amateur and overall categories. Last year we managed a close second place in amateur supebikes final championship standings aboard a cbr600rr. We were never off the podium! I expect nothing less than this position in 2013.

I am hoping to find people who love BMW, motorcycle racing, have some experience with the newer models and have time to volunteer this summer for the chance to make a team that can win races!

I happily invite anyone to volunteer for marshaling as well. This is an extremely fun experience! You cant get better seats and cant beat the feeling of being such a vital part of the show. Also, if you cannot marshal, you could still come out to 'shout and wave' as a spectator/supporter in 2013!

I will post links and pics next week!

We hope all are riding safe and smooth in 2013, wherever you may roam....

Regards,

Colin

Hi Colin,
Welcome to the group and furthermore congratulations on acquiring thr S1000RR. I've seen it in the flesh as a street version and in seems like am impressive machine: way to much machine for me and the ergonomics wouldn't be quite what I'd (read my hips) be able to stand for long.
I have another BMW racing pedegree in the form of a 1974 R90S, a model that had impressive wins at the Daytona Battle of the Twins series, years back.
While I can't personally offer sponsorship or a race mechanic, I applaud your efforts as I am sure the rest of the club will as well.
I have hung around some of the Superbike weekends at AMP and have enjoyed it. Does parking above turn 2, picnicing with my kids qualify as babysitting while my wife studied at home - I think so.
Volunteering may be a possiblity and maybe some club members will step up as well. The further I go along in life; it is usually time or money or both that I am short of - ain't that the truth.
Do keep us posted on some of the main race dates and the like so we can make plans if any slots are left open.
Anyway as I said at the onset, welcome to the group. Hope to meet you at some club event soon.

Thanks gents!

I have been off the highways for a while now. Used to ride a lot in Cape Breton, HRM and about NS/maritimes. Took an interest in racing superbikes 4-5 years ago and have since been putting a serious effort into it.
I have discovered that racing is really just the fine art of turning money into noise.. scratch

I will come visit everyone on a club night.

My dad took me to a BMW dealer in Glace Bay many, MANY years ago(40+!).... Any know of him? Cant remember his name but, as a very young lad, I swore I'd have one of those amazing bikes... I remember he was vehemently and passionately opposed to helmet laws!

Would that have been Salkins (Harry perhaps) place perhaps. Wait-
Opposed to helmet laws, sounds like Harry. His brother used to be in Halifax, Mike. He had one of Harrys BMWs and he himself had/has a beautiful Indian .

OMG! After all these years, that name sounds so familiar now. Thanks. My father let me know clearly "no helmet - no bike"...

Thanks GMAC..
Hope to see everyone over a coffee... especially as it warms up, OH please let it be soon.... We would love to see some new faces @ the races. We are currently making a marshal drive to increase the ranks of 'the boys and girls in white'. Free entrance, free lunch, free camping, free adrenaline, free training and free admiration and gratefulness from spectators, racers, friends and family + the best seats in the house.

Should be having a 'Meet the Bike' night soon. I will post up notifications as early as I can. Feels weird being the only BMW around the track! Should be quite the show!

I'll post it up straight away 1st.
Should have confirmation next week regarding Bike Display Night... Most likely, it's going to be downtown at one of the Pubs.

ARRCA is having a social meeting at KartBahn in april!
ARRCA is hosting a meet and greet for new marshals at Kartbahn in Bayers Lake ( 66 Otter Lake Court, Halifax) on Sunday April 21st at Noon!
If you think this may be fun for you, please drop in and meet the crazies.. oops, I mean my fellow marshals. Great group and infamous in the racing scene in Canada. You can take in one or all of the events, be it cars or bikes..
New, 2013 schedule posted!
