Hi Shereef.
I am not making plans for this rally yet, but have attended many in the past.
Our club members have had a warm welcome there anytime we've attended.
Many times we take a day and a half to get there and our return trip is one day. e.g. We have ridden to Ellsworth and stayed at the Eagles Nest Motel on a thursday and arrived at the DownEast on friday around noon. Another scenario is that we have ridden as far as Freeport Maine and then arrived at the rally site the next day.
The officlal Rally dates arethe friday to Sunday. If you arrive earlier than those dates you pay the usual campground rates.
A few times we have left on a wednesday and toured an extra day before attending the rally.
Local towns for services include Bath, Brunswick, and Freeport.
When we have arrived earlier we have met some of the BMW Ridersof Southern Maine at the Kopper Kettle in Topsham Maine.
There is a local dealer in Falmouth Maine by the name of Streets
Cycle.
I'll add more as I gather some info.

The Down Drown East is a great rally. As 90s pointed out we've always had a warm welcome there in the past.

For the first time in twelve years I won't be able to make it. My daughter's graduation is that weekend and apparently that's more important than me going to a rally.
